The ANZPRA ECR Award is aimed at enabling our younger members to visit other laboratories to foster collaborations and learn new techniques. Awards are valued at up to $1000AU, and open to ANZPRA members who are within 5 years of obtaining their PhD (or highest degree).

We are pleased to announce the inagural winner of the ANZPRA ECR award - Ashley Meakin from the University of Queensland.  Ashley will use his award to visit collaborators in US after SRI in March 2020.  We wish Ash all the best with his trip and look forward to hearing about it.

The award will be open for applications again in 2020, and we encourage all ECRs to apply.  Visit the awards page for full details.

IFPA Postponements

Please note that the IFPA Amsterdam meeting has been postponed to 2021.  Please visit for full details. The theme of the meeting will be “Next Generation of Placental Research”. This theme has a twofold aim; firstly, it is chosen to emphasize the research performed by young investigators and give them a large platform to present their work. Secondly, the theme is to highlight all aspects of the large variety of next generation techniques present today or in the near future.

In line with this, all future IFPA meetings have been shifted back a year, with the IFPA NZ meeting to be held in 2022.  Please see for details.
