ANZPRA satellite meetings
ANZPRA holds an annual satellite meeting immediately prior to the Society for Reproductive Biology Annual Conference each year (see the SRB conference website for more details). These satellite meetings showcase the broad range of fantastic placental research being undertaken in Australia and New Zealand.
IFPA-ANZPRA Satellite Meeting, Hanmer Springs, November 17-18th 2022
We're very pleased to announce that this year ANZPRA will be hosting a special two day satellite meeting following the Society of Reproductive Biology (SRB) Meeting in Christchurch. The venue for this is at the Hanmer Springs Hotel, Hanmer Springs, North Canterbury - approximately 90 minutes drive from Christchurch towards the Southern Alps. We look forward to bringing together a range of scientists and clinicians from across different career stages, both allowing the ANZPRA community to reconnect in person, and to welcome new researchers who may have not attended an ANZPRA event before. This meeting is possible thanks to the generous support of the International Federation of Placenta Associations, and the Auckland Medical Research Fund.
We are planning an exciting two day programme that will feature talks from early and mid-career researchers, opportunities to reflect on our vision for the future of placental research in Australasia, and workshops designed to stimulate and identify collaborative opportunities. Abstract submission is invited for students and early career researchers (up to 10 years post-PhD). Abstracts need to be distinct from work submitted to the SRB meeting. The abstract template and guidelines can be found here. All abstracts are to be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The abstract deadline is 5pm (AEST) Friday August 26th, 2022. Abstract acceptance will be notified by the 23rd of September.
Abstracts will be judged by the IFPA/ANZPRA awards committee, and the scores used to allocate awards (below). They will assess the clarity of the abstract, the quality of data, and demonstration of understanding of the importance to pregnancy health and placental research.
You must be a current financial ANZPRA member at the time of abstract submission to be considered for any of the awards (register for membership here). Two different awards are available:
ECR Travel Award: The top 12 abstracts from ECRs up to 5 years post-PhD will be awarded a speaking spot and a travel award based on distance ($500 for those travelling internationally, $250 for those travelling domestically) .
IFPA-ANZPRA Koru Award: This award is for an emerging research leader (5-10 years post-PhD). The finalists selected to present in the Koru Award session will recieve free registration, and the session winner will recieve a $1000AU prize.
